Letter from the owner.
My name is Beverley Spidle and I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2004. I started practicing at a young age, and absolutely love my career – I will practice until my hands fall off!
Before opening Knead Therapy, I did months of research to find the right clinic in Nanaimo for me to practice in. Unfortunately, at the time it didn’t exist.
I decided the only way to work in Nanaimo was to build a clinic that valued and supported RMTs in the same way I wanted to be valued and supported.
I knew what my hands could do, and was ready to take a stand for how I felt things should be done for RMTs. So in 2010, I opened Knead Therapy in my home town of Nanaimo.
I worked for nine months straight, in three different communities, seven days a week to grow my business. It was a tough time, but I absolutely loved the challenge. I grew personally and professionally, and still love running the clinic over a decade later.
Today, Knead Therapy has grown into a welcoming and thriving clinic with a life of her own.
Knead Therapy is a professional space, with the right balance of warmth and kindness. We are organized, supportive, and structured; yet still flexible and friendly.
I take leadership seriously, and am constantly working on my own skills. I lead with my heart and maintain personal and professional boundaries.
As a team, we have so much to offer to the right teammates. I am deeply committed to the clinic space we share with our clients, coworkers, and staff.
We value work/life balance, understanding that changes and challenges emerge for everyone, and pride ourselves with open communication to achieve it. We thrive in gratitude and are a pretty fun group to work with!
