Meet Cole.
Cole graduated from Okanagan College of Massage Therapy in 2019, and has been working as an RMT since 2020.
Cole moved to Nanaimo from Vernon in 2022 because he wanted to get away from the hot and smokey summers and always wanted to live near the ocean. With a background in forestry, he brings a unique perspective to his practice, seeing first-hand how important it is to care for our bodies.
Cole takes a patient-centred approach. He believes that each body is unique, and realizes that lighter techniques are sometimes required to get results. His passion for massage therapy extends to furthering his knowledge, having completed courses in Biomechanics of Deep Tissue Massage and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. He appreciates the importance of flexibility in techniques and continues to seek opportunities for growth.
Some of his preferred modalities include:
- General Swedish Massage
- Myofascial Release
- Joint Play and Mobilization
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Neuromuscular Technique
- Relaxation Massage
- Pregnancy Massage
- Treatment of old scar or restricted tissue
Some common conditions treated include:
- Headaches and migraines
- TMJ dysfunction
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Shoulder pain and stiffness
- Back pain
- Pelvic restrictions and imbalance
- Knee, foot, and ankle restriction and imbalance
- Post-surgery and post-accident issues
- Whiplash
- Stress and anxiety
- Restricted or reduced mobility
Outside the massage room, Cole enjoys time with his dog, listening to music, hiking, practicing yoga, watching movies, playing video games, and swimming. Cole continues to nurture his interest in yoga, and plans to explore it further with the goal of seeing how he can incorporate concepts into his massage practice.
